In April 2009, Thomas Smith was retiring from the CCSO after 32 years of service. His departing promise was to create a mechanism for all CCSO members, past & present to have a means to stay connected to each other and the ageny.

After months of gathering materials, meetings with fellow retirees and website construction the CCSO Association and its website were launched in August 2009. This association is one of only a few Sheriff's Office based Alumni Groups in the state of Florida.

It is our goal to set the bar high and become the best on-line Sheriff's employee/retiree Association in the State of Florida.

The CCSOA's purpose is to promote social and professional communication, among the CCSO's past and present members by retaining friendships and long-time connections with fellow Deputies and the agency from which members retired or separated from in good-standing.

We will strive to enhance and develop the "Brotherhood & Sisterhood" within the profession we have served with honor.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to increase participation from our past agency members in Agency social events and activities; both personal and professional and provide a means for everyone to stay connected to the agency and their friends.

This will be accomplished by providing services and features for active and retired members to connect and follow the pursuits of friends and acquaintances, through the use of a secured "Members Only" area, event calendars, member e-mail lists, personnel locator maps, Blogs, on-line discussion forums, forms and documents from Human Resources and insurance, special features concerning the CCSO's history and more.
